About the Meetup Session
Throughout the semester, I attended three meetups by The Tech Academy, an online coding boot camp based in Portland, Oregon.
I attended brief introductory sessions that highlighted the offerings of their bootcamp, along with small info sessions that answered specific technology questions.
The first session I attended was titled "The Difference Between Internet and World Wide Web," presented by Erick Gross on February 21, 2024. Initially, I thought I already knew most of the content, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn there is much more to the World Wide Web. Erick explained concepts like the HTTP Request, which was new to me.
Other topics covered included Web Servers, File Systems, Online Connections, Protocols, and more.

The third session I attended was titled "Create a Magic 8 Ball," presented by Erick Gross on February 21, 2024. After attending the second meeting with Mr. Gross, I became a regular at his sessions due to his empathetic approach towards beginners. In this session, just like in his Python class, he meticulously guided us step-by-step, emphasizing key points of each section.
Having previously taken a Python class at CCSF, I found Mr. Gross's concise 2-hour meetings to be extremely beneficial for hands-on learning. I would rate this session a 10/10.
